Antique J.A. Henckels carbon steel cleaver, made in Solingen, Germany, likely from the early 1900s (1900-1920s) based on its handle materials and construction.
The hand-forged, hand-ground blade remains in good condition with minimal wear and no signs of improper sharpening, though it has light pitting from past rust. The rosewood handle, secured with vintage nickel and steel pin-and-disc rivets, is intact but shows cracks, which are rare to find on similar pieces.
The blade has been freshly sharpened with a convex edge and is ready for use.
Specifications: 7"+ cutting edge, 3" at its widest, 12.25" overall length, weighing 16.59 oz.
